Where can I donate books locally?
Making room on your shelves for more books is a familiar problem for many readers.
But what do you do with the books once they have been read?
Donating them gives the books a new life, finds an audience and in many cases helps some great causes.

While Elkhart Public Library does not accept book donations for our collection, the Friends of the Elkhart Public Library love to take books for their monthly book sales. Those sales raise funds to support the library programs and more.
The Friends are only accepting books published since 2010 and in good condition. They do not accept magazines or encyclopedias.
Reach out to the Friends to arrange your donation today by emailing FriendsofEPL@aol.com.
Other local opportunities to donate your books include:
- Drop some off at a free little library. We keep a map of local ones, if you know of one we missed, let us know.
- Better World Books in Mishawaka. Each book Better World sells helps them donate books to people around the world.
