Teen Leadership Club offers volunteer experience

Teens can get valuable volunteer hours for a college résumé or church at the library while having fun and making the library better.

Teen Leadership Club will meet at 4 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month, beginning on Sept. 18, due to a reschedule, at the downtown branch.

According to Allison McLean, librarian, volunteers for the club will help plan programming for fellow teens and help librarians understand how the library can better help students.

They will make films, plan a large event and more. There will be snacks and participants will receive a free book at every meeting.

“I hope to find students that are dependable and want to make a difference,” McLean said. “A love of books is nice, but not required.”

To get involved with Teen Leadership Club, contact McLean by email, amclean@myepl.org or come to the first meeting Sept. 18.
