Remote learners welcome to study at the library
Students needing a place to do remote learning are welcome at Elkhart Public Library.
Library locations will be open 9 a.m. to noon and 2 to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m. to noon and 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday with exclusive workspaces for students engaged in e-learning in school or college. Check out the complete listing of hours and locations.
Students must bring their own device, charging cord and headphones. The library will provide the tables, chairs, wifi access, and any needed help getting into the Digital Library with student ecards.
Masks and physical distancing will be required. (See all the news about the library’s response to COVID-19.)
During the expanded hours, the library also will be open for browsing and checking out items. While no time limits are on students, browsers are still asked to keep visits to 30 minutes or less. Curbside pickup and computer appointments also are available.
Children 7 and younger must be accompanied by someone aged 14 or older at all times, per library policy. Children ages 8-10 must have a caregiver who is at least 14 years old in the building.
