New open hours mean more browsing time

The opening hours of all Elkhart Public Library hours are finding a more consistent and permanent time across all locations.

After conducting an hours survey as part of the current strategic plan, the library administration and Board of Trustees have released the new open hours, which are the same at both the Downtown Library and neighborhood branches:

Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The new hours will go in to effect beginning Monday, June 7.

The hours reflect community input from the hours survey, as well as studying foot traffic at all locations across pre-pandemic years.

The most commonly requested change, according to the public was the addition of Saturday hours and now all locations will be open an additional two hours on Saturdays.

There is also an additional weeknight hour to 7 p.m. on most evenings. It also brings all hours to all locations to being the same, for consistency.

Our curbside service will continue to operate during the same open hours.

Find your nearest location and we look forward to serving you soon.
