More play space coming to downtown children’s room

To create a more welcoming space for families and children, the downtown library is rearranging shelving.

Over the next couple of weeks, visitors may notice changes to where familiar items are located.

The CD collection, previously outside of the children’s room on the first floor, has moved further back temporarily. New shelving will be installed in April.

As part of these temporary changes, paperbacks and audiobooks have moved. Once the temporary moves are finished, they will remain on the first floor.

Several shelves from the children’s room are permanently moving to the space just outside the children’s room.

The newly created space in the children’s room allows for an expanded play area and more family seating.

Some of the collections being relocated include juvenile fiction, easy readers, picture books and board books.

If assistance is needed to find any books, staff is always available and happy to help.
