Picture CaptionMrs. Orrin (Geraldine) Smith, 107 Benton, Syracuse, a portrait painter associated for many years with a Fort Wayne department store, has been commissioned to paint the 5-ft. statue of St. Martin de Porres in front of the church. She is shown on a scaffold as she completes the painting in time for the Sunday dedication. Dedication and blessing of the new St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, Ind. 13 south of Syracuse, will be held at 10:30 am Sunday. Bishop Leo A. Pursley, D.D., of the Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese will conduct the dedication ceremony and deliver the sermon. Bishop Pursley will celebrate the first mass, assisted by the Rev. Martin Horvath, Warsaw, the Rev. Richard John, Prior of the Crosier Fathers at Our Lady of the Lake Seminary, Syracuse, and the Rev. Eugene Zimmerman, pastor of the St. Martin's Parrish. 6/10/1967.
