Free showing: The myth of Kong, mystery in the Pacific

When a team of scientists go on an adventure to explore Skull Island, an uncharted island in the Pacific, what they find isn’t quite what they were expecting.

The eighth Hollywood version of the mythical King Kong story, “Kong: Skull Island” reimagines the mysterious story of the larger-than-life gorilla who is king of Skull Island. The scientists are faced with the beauty of the island and the danger of the beasts that inhabit it. In the fight against a giant ape and other creatures, anything can happen.

Catch a free showing of “Kong: Skull Island” at Elkhart Public Library, 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9. Films are shown on the lower level of the downtown location.

“Kong: Skull Island” is a 2017 release from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. The film is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action and for brief strong language. The talented Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, and more star in the film.
