Two final summer reading treats: ice cream and a play

Celebrating the end of the summer reading program, Elkhart Public Library is treating participants to an ice cream delight.

img_2020From 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 31, everyone is invited for an afternoon of fun with ice cream and toppings. GeoTrekkers, can bring their passport to get one last stamp.

While eating their treats, kids can watch “Three Little Pigs: Building a Better World,” a play performed by their peers.

Following the play, the winners of the Build a Better World art contest will be announced.

For this year’s summer reading program, Build a Better World, prizes have been awarded throughout as students reach different levels. Grand prizes will be awarded after all reading forms have been turned in.

Thanks to Burkhart Advertising, students involved in the summer reading program will have the opportunity to win two tickets to a South Bend Cubs game. The Friends of the Elkhart Public Library also provide financial suppor for the program.

The food coupons that students were able to receive throughout the program were made possible by Penn Station Subs, Ben’s Pretzels, McDonald’s, Applebee’s, Dairy Queen, Urban Swirl of Goshen, and Twisted Cow.
