zedgeI listened to EDGE OF ETERNITY by Ken Follett. (FIC, Audiobook, eBook, Audio eBook, Large Print) • The second in Follett’s Century Trilogy, this sweeping historical novel follows some of the same individuals and their families whose lives were chronicled in the first volume, FALL OF GIANTS. The first volume covers the time period leading up to and through the Great War (World War I). EDGE OF ETERNITY follows the same families through World War II. The action, the relationships, the politics, the treachery are very exciting in a “Game of Thrones,” kind of way, and even more so because it’s real! ~Jane, Administration

This is an uplifting story about James’ Christmases, past and present, and the experiences he shares with Bob. ~Erika, Reference Services

I really enjoyed David Baldacci’s THE GUILTY (FIC, Audiobook, eBook, Large Print) • I like the character Robie, who appears in some of Baldacci’s work. It started out a tad slow, but the momentum kept building. I mostly enjoyed that I didn’t figure out who did until the end. Good read! ~Kris, Cleveland Branch

TATTOOS ON THE HEART: THE POWER OF BOUNDLESS COMPASSION
by Gregory Boyle (277.9494 B792) • Boyle, a Jesuit priest, is the founder of Homeboy Industries, an organization that gives gang members of Los Angeles an alternative to a life of violence and crime. The stories he tells about his experiences with gang members, both male and female, are very touching and have given me a deeper understanding of the power of God’s love for each of us, no matter our circumstances. When asked to relate “success” stories regarding Homeboy Industries, he quotes Mother Teresa:  “I do not pray for success, I ask for faithfulness”. A thought-provoking read. ~Erika, Reference Services
