Computer Classes October/November 2015

Our fall schedule includes One-on-One and Tablet Training sessions, as well as classes on Windows 8, MS Word, MS Excel, and Photoshop Elements 13. Reserve your spot by contacting the Main Library Public Computer Center at (574) 294-2847.

What do you want to learn? Saving files? Cut and paste? Email attachments? Library resources? eBooks? Something else? Bring your questions, along with your laptop, tablet, smartphone, or eReader, for 30 minutes of individual training just for you! No mobile device? No problem; we will use a Library computer. Do you have a tablet or an eReader and need some pointers on using it? We can help! Bring your tablet and your questions for a 30-minute individual session. We will work with you to help you better understand your device and how to use it for accessing eBooks and other Library resources.

BASIC MICROSOFT WORD 2010

Learn to open, close, save, print, and create new documents, set margins, and use help files. Editing tips include line spacing, justifying text, changing font style, size, and color as well as using bold, italics, and underlining. You must know how to use a mouse to register for this class.

BASIC MICROSOFT EXCEL 2010

Learn to work with spreadsheets and worksheets; rows, columns, and cells; change the style, size, and color of fonts; justify text; cut, copy, and paste; format numbers as percentages, currency, etc.; and sort data. You must know how to use a mouse to register for this class.

INTERMEDIATE MICROSOFT EXCEL 2010

When you have completed Basic Microsoft Excel 2010, sign up for this class to learn about charts and worksheet references; COUNT(), MIN(), MAX() and AVERAGE() aggregate functions; importing/exporting delimited files, etc.

WINDOWS 10 BASICS

Explore the Windows 8 desktop. Learn how to open, close, minimize, and resize windows; start and close programs; and save, rename, copy, and move files. You must know how to use a mouse to register for this class.

Photoshop Elements 13 Basics

Use Photoshop Elements 13 software to learn about cropping, “redeye” reduction, spot healing, color correction, light balancing, and sharpening, as well as how to quick select specific areas of a photo. You must know how to use a mouse to register for this class.
