Research assistance
Reference librarians can help you with the information you’re seeking, whether personal or for business use.
Obtaining newspaper articles or obituaries
Staff will answer written requests on a first come, first serve basis. Due to the volume of questions, we limit our time to 1.5 hours of research. Requests can be filled via email or mail.
Forms may be printed (download the local history and/or obituary research forms to start). Requests also may be made by calling 574-522-5669 or in person at our downtown location.
Cost: $5 for every 30 minutes of research for one name, event, article or photo or for one to three obituary requests.
Rules: Fees apply whether information can be located or not. Fees cover staff time, copies and/or scanning. Limit one request per month per person. No refunds are offered. Payment is requested in advance. Self-addressed stamped envelope must be included for mail response.
