Paint Creations

Our January Paint computer class was all about using shapes and colors to create works of art.  With Cheryl to guide them, the participants, ages 6-11, each created 3 pieces.  The first could be anything they wanted.  For the other two pieces, they used specific works for inspiration: Composition II in Red Blue and Yellow by Piet Mondrian and Several Circles by Vasily Kandinsky.  Before the Kandinsky project, they were also shown some of Josef Albers’ work with colored squares, encouraging them to think of colors and shapes, and not just circles.

Here are some of their creations:

Jaden (Mondrian)

Michelle (Mondrian)

Aja (Kandinsky)

Alissa (Kandinsky)
