Rocking the roof – free curbside concerts are back
Season 5 of Curbside Concerts is finally here. Get ready to see the best local musicians play the best roof in downtown Elkhart.
The rooftop lights back up at 7 p.m. Friday, May 10, when we welcome Paul Decker and the Remnants to the stage for the first time. From there, it’s lots of long-time friends and other notable first-timers every Friday through June 28.

- June 7 – Punk Night featuring The Distractions, Half Built Homes and the Hatchbacks

- June 21 – Friday Jazz Fest party featuring Paul Erdman (9:30-11:45 p.m.) and JAGALCHI (7:30-8:45 p.m.)
- June 22 – Saturday Jazz Fest party featuring Lalo Cura (9:30-11:45 p.m.) and rebel noire and the accomplices (7:30-8:45 p.m.)
- June 28 – BEE The Band
All these shows are powered by AEP and ”Well Crafted” with the support of the Elkhart County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The musicians
No band has played here more than High Gravity – five times total. They’ve had the record for the biggest crowds, and they’ve had that record taken away from them a couple of times (currently: Gretchen’s Revenge, 2023, with 360 watching the show). Will you see them make history again June 14?
Jake Miller, who you know from Kansas Bible Co., brings his new country-rock band here May 17. Scott Lehman of Tumbleweed Jumpers brings JAGALCHI here to open up our jazz fest fun. Punk Night will be an experience all its own June 7, with three local bands taking the stage. And BEE The Band on June 28 is an up-and-coming one you’ll want to get to know.
Paul Erdman, Darryl Buchanan, Lalo Cura, rebel noire … the stars will be out every night in downtown Elkhart.
The food and the other things to know
As always, these concerts are free. Bands play on our roof, so bring camp chairs and watch from our parking lot. We sell beer, wine and soda – ask the bartenders, and they’ll probably get you the library book you’ve been wanting, too.
And what about the food?
That Guys Gourmet Ribs will be here for every show except June 7, when Hotdogeddy’s will be rolling out his wiener wagon.
The library parking lot will be fenced and open to all ages (only the marked alcohol sale area is 21-and-over). Parking is available on the street or in nearby municipal lots. Musicians may bring merch to sell, and the library accepts cash and card.
In the event of rain, we move the music indoors to the library atrium. Doors will open at 6:30, and the bar will be available inside.
